The viability, performance, and fabrication advantages of optical computing increase significantly when it is conceptualized as an all-optical system, particularly when utilizing the laser—the very device that revolutionized communications by displacing electronics. This first part delves into the development of the Dual Signal Optical Logic Architecture (DSOLA), detailing the encoding method, the laser-based optical transistor, and how these components are integrated to implement fundamental logic gates: AND, OR, XOR, as well as their complements: NOR, XOR, and XNOR, all without the need for NOT gates. Additionally, this architecture explores the concept of Light Multinary systems, enhancing the overall functionality.
